  • Public Education About Islam and Muslim Women
    We offer a unique perspective on Islam and Muslim women- a voice grounded in and empowered by our faith tradition. Our presentations reach diverse audiences, including the education and corporate sectors, interfaith groups, high school and college students as well as Muslim community members.   • Celebrating and Fostering Women's Leadership
    Women In Islam, Inc. affirms the rich Islamic legacy of Muslim women’s participation in the public square. We host educational events to highlight the contributions of women to locally and nationally, including our Dr. Betty Shabazz Annual Award Ceremony and Charting Our Own Course, a Women’s History Month program.   • Advancing Human Dignity, Human Rights and Civil Rights
    Consistent with Islamic teachings, Women In Islam, Inc. has a firm commitment to promote human dignity, human rights and civil rights for our communities. Our programs deal with the inclusion of Muslim women in community institutions, including mosques and organizations, and we consider women's inclusion as a matter of human dignity and human rights. In addition, we host a Human Rights and Social Justice Lecture series that puts forward perspectives often marginalized by mainstream media. Learn more


  • Building Civic Participation and Interfaith Collaboration
    As the oldest Muslim women's human rights organization in New York City, Women In Islam, Inc. has developed relationships with organizations in the Muslim community, as well as interfaith groups, elected officials, and the diplomatic community. We bring Muslim women’s perspectives to inform critical conversations and public discourse on issues that impact Muslims and Muslim women. Our interfaith collaborations with like-minded organizations and individuals from a variety of faith traditions aim to advance social justice and bring the voices of faith leaders into the public square.
